Abstract
This study zooms into the true nature of modern Libyan conflicts through an analytical perspective. The nature of the conflict and its causes are crucially and deeply scrutinized. By enacting an inductive, analytical, and comparative method, the study inspected situations in Libya before and after February 17, 2017, with a follow through on the development stages of the Libyan conflict. This was followed by analyzing the structure of the Libyan society and a re- view of the regional interventions by neighboring countries. The existing and future challenges are stated, whereby the study revealed certain points:: The causes of the Libyan conflicts were due to political, regional and tribal divisions and internal factors (tribal and ethnic tensions) that are constantly reflected in the nature of the Libyan society , the interference and conflict of external interests, the non- participation of parties in resolving the issues, and constant perseverance of conflicting party interests rather than national interests making the situation complex and extremely difficult to resolve . This study concludes by highlighting the difference between conflicting wars in neighboring countries and Libya which is different in nature and requires much more effort in resolving key issues.
